MrBeast, Jimmy Donaldson, has officially tied the knot to longtime girlfriend Thea Booysen in an intimate ceremony on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.
The couple, both 28, exchanged vows in front of about 70 close friends and family members during a week-long wedding celebration that began on July 14.
Despite the YouTuber’s reputation for turning almost everything into a viral spectacle, the pair seemingly kept their wedding off-camera, opting for an intimate celebration.
Across the 74-acre private island, guests spent several days enjoying activities including snorkeling, kitesurfing and meeting the island’s resident lemurs and kangaroos before the wedding ceremony.
According to People, the ceremony was officiated by an ordained minister who is also a longtime family friend.
Booysen wore a custom Nicole + Felicia Couture wedding gown with a bridal robe designed by Banke Kuku. Celebrity stylist Jeremy Noig curated her bridal looks, while Lola’s Beauty Mark handled makeup and Mikey Lu styled her hair. Donaldson opted for a classic Ralph Lauren tuxedo.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds shared their first dance to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ hit “Die With a Smile.” Guests were served an elaborate menu featuring sushi, wagyu beef and fresh fish before ending the evening with a carrot wedding cake — Booysen’s favorite.
In early 2022, Donaldson traveled to South Africa to film with Logan Paul and Casey Neistat. When a planned Antarctica shoot was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions, the group extended their stay.
A mutual friend invited Booysen to dinner with the creators, giving her the chance to finally meet Donaldson in person.
Speaking in a 2022 interview, Booysen recalled that she immediately found him “super nice” and surprisingly down-to-earth. She noticed he kept asking her thoughtful questions, only to later discover he was working through a prepared list because he was hoping to meet someone to date.
Donaldson later told People that he was immediately impressed by Booysen’s intelligence and curiosity, saying he knew within minutes that he wanted to pursue a relationship.
Soon afterward, Donaldson messaged Booysen on X, formerly Twitter, asking if he could read her upcoming fantasy novel, The Marked Children. She eventually sent him the manuscript, which led to a three-hour phone call that transformed their friendship into something more.
The couple spent much of their relationship navigating long distance relationship between the United States and South Africa while Booysen completed her studies.
They made their public debut together at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in April 2022 and continued to support one another while balancing demanding careers.
He eventually proposed on Christmas Day 2024, with the pair wearing matching holiday sweaters featuring “MrBeast.”
Following the ceremony, Donaldson shared the milestone on social media, writing that he had finally found “Mrs. Beast” and calling it the “best day” of his life.
Although the exact cost of the wedding has not been disclosed, reports estimate that hosting a week-long celebration on the Island alone can cost well into the six figures, with the total event potentially exceeding $2 million after accounting for travel, accommodations, catering and production.
