The Milwaukee Bucks are moving on to the post-Giannis Antetokounmpo era with a great deal of promise. While no one is expecting them to be among the best teams in the NBA Eastern Conference, their young roster, filled with a plethora of exciting talent, gives some hope that they can at least be better than their embarrassing and disastrous 2025-26 campaign.
Among the young players that they have going into the 2026-27 NBA season are their two first round picks: Brayden Burries and Nate Ament. Both incoming rookies got their first taste of professional basketball while playing for the Bucks in the NBA Summer League.
And one of them impressed so much that he was named to the All-Summer League First Team.

Burries, whom the Bucks selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, has become a fan-favorite very quickly. The 20-year-old Arizona product averaged averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 50% from the field and 36.4% from three.
Due to his impressive performances in each game, he was named to the 2026 NBA All-Summer League Team:
As one can see, the team was picked by votes of all 30 NBA teams.
Going forward, Burries is part of a Bucks roster that is brimming with guards. This has led many to believe that one of the returning players from last year, such as Ryan Rollins, Kevin Porter Jr., or AJ Green may be traded.
While head coach Taylor Jenkins has yet to determine what role Burries will have as a rookie in the NBA, it is becoming clear rather early that he is going to make it hard to keep him on the bench for prolonged periods of time.
