Back in 2024, a lawsuit was filed against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs’ son for physically and sexually assaulting a woman on a yacht in 2022. The rapper was also named in the lawsuit for aiding the alleged assault. Now, years later, Diddy insisted that one of the lawsuits against him is so baseless that he is now seeking compensation for it.

A TMZ report has quoted court documents obtained by the publication in the case. According to the report, Diddy is reportedly seeking sanctions against Grace O’Marcaigh and her attorneys, alleging they filed a “frivolous amended complaint” against him even after a judge ruled that California courts lacked jurisdiction over him.

The rapper’s lawyers argued that the amended complaint of the complainant revamped the same jurisdictional arguments that the court had already rejected instead of fixing the problems identified by the judge. They further claimed that O’Marcaigh and her lawyers disregarded the court’s ruling that forced Diddy to spend more money defending a “meritless case.”

Per the report, the 56-year-old has urged the federal judge to impose sanctions, including covering attorneys’ fees and legal costs. Meanwhile, the plaintiff’s attorneys did not agree with the demands.

They attached a letter to the filing and argued that the amended complaint included fresh allegations, claiming the yacht charter linked the rapper to California. It has also been claimed that the judge allowed them to amend the complaint and claimed that the demand for sanctions is “without merit.”

For the unversed, O’Marcaigh initiated legal action against Diddy and his son, Christian King Combs, alleging sexual and physical assault in 2022. It was alleged that the incident took place aboard a yacht in the Caribbean while she worked as a steward. However, the rapper had denied the allegations leveled against him.

A BBC report suggests that the plaintiff claimed that while working as a steward on the yacht, she regularly saw it crowded with intoxicated people, celebrities, suspected s** workers, and drugs. She suspected that drinks served for her and other women on board may have been adulterated with drugs as she saw people “falling over themselves, panicking, or passing out.”

She further alleged that the rapper’s 26-year-old insisted her to have tequila with him. However, he became “violent” and grabbed her arm when she tried to leave. The steward also alleged that Christian groped her and “proceeded to kiss her neck, face, and hands.”

At the time, Combs’ record producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who has also filed a lawsuit against him, was reportedly recording on the yacht.
