The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new phase of their rebuild after bringing in Klint Kubiak as their new head coach and drafting Fernando Mendoza as their quarterback of the future. However, there are still some mainstays of the last era of the team on the roster.
Maxx Crosby is still in Vegas, no matter how hard he tried to get out. After Crosby’s failed trade to the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the offseason, he looks locked in with the Raiders for at least the 2026 season even as trade rumors continue to swirl.
While the Raiders aren’t likely to be playoff contenders this season in the first year with Kubiak and Mendoza, Crosby gives them an instant difference-maker on the defensive side of the ball that they badly need.

On Saturday, former Raiders assistant Beyah Rasool had heavy praise for the competitiveness and drive of Crosby and star Raiders tight end Brock Bowers while on The Victory Degree Podcast.
“It would be hard to tell the difference between Brock and Maxx in practice and Brock and Maxx in a game. It looks the same,” Rasool said. “It looks the same. It always looked like it was the fourth quarter. It always looked like it was the first snap of the game. It always looked like the game-winning play. They always did that.
“Maxx wanted to win at everything he did. He could be playing pool, he could be playing a video game, he could be playing cards and you’d have thought it was to break a record in the NFL. You’d have thought it was to go to the Super Bowl.”
Crosby replied to the praise of his former coach, who is now a defensive assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles, with just two words on social media.
“Real One,” Crosby wrote.
Crosby is an iron man and has missed only seven games in the last six seasons, including two at the end of last season with a knee injury. During his Raiders career, he has 69.5 sacks and 133 tackles for loss and will try to add to that this season.
