Former Liverpool star Andy Robertson was officially unveiled by Tottenham on Tuesday, and it was a difficult image for fans to come to terms with as he began training with his new club.
Robertson joined Liverpool during the same summer transfer window as Mohamed Salah in 2017, and departed alongside the Egyptian winger on a free transfer after the 2025-26 season. Both players captained their national teams at the World Cup before returning home.
Salah's future remains inconclusive, though he has been heavily linked to Turkish club Besiktas in recent weeks. However, after a failed pursuit in January, Tottenham signed Robertson on a free transfer, and he was pictured in his new jersey for the first time on Tuesday.

Robertson captained Scotland at the World Cup, but the nation crashed out in the group stage after claiming just three points. The 32-year-old has already reported for Tottenham training and could feature in a friendly against MK Dons on Wednesday.
Although Robertson's move to Tottenham has been confirmed for some time, he was on World Cup duty when it was officially announced. On Tuesday, he was pictured in his training gear, holding his new jersey, which provided a strange sight for Liverpool fans after he spent nine years at Anfield.
"Load up this horrible app in hopes of some transfer news, and instead I see this," one fan wrote on X.
"This is going to be tough to get used to," another said.
"This looks so weird," a third wrote.
"Feels extremely weird seeing Robbo holding up a Spurs shirt," another added.
Robertson almost joined Tottenham in January, but Liverpool was unable to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma. Heading into next season, Milos Kerkez will start for Liverpool and Tsimikas will act as the backup.
Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham's head coach, has long been a fan of Robertson and was eager to sign him to boost locker-room morale. "Andy is someone I've admired for a number of years and he will bring outstanding technical qualities, experience, leadership and mentality to our team," De Zerbi said.
"I'm excited because he's a Scottish player first of all and I love Scottish players. [Because] I worked with [Scot] Billy Gilmour at Brighton and I love their mentality and passion in football.
"He is a proven winner at the highest level over a long period and is someone who can be a big player for us, both on and off the pitch. I can't wait to start working with him and seeing the positive impact he will have on everyone around him."
Robertson saw his minutes dwindle at Liverpool last season, but it remains to be seen whether he will be a regular starter at Tottenham. However, De Zerbi has clear reasons for bringing in the Scottish legend.
