Taylor Sheridan's Landman Season 2 is coming back in two months with its new release on a different format. After originally streaming on Paramount+, the complete season will be made available on physical media.
Paramount Home Media Distribution has announced that Landman Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray on Sept. 22, 2026. This will be a three-disc set offering a handful of special features. This includes the featurettes Going Deeper: Inside Landman Season 2 and Finding Character in Clothing with Clothing Designer Janie Bryant. Optional English SDH and French subtitles for each episode are also included. A look at the cover art for the Blu-ray release can be viewed below.
Landman Gets a Season 2 Blu-ray Release Ahead of Season 3
The official description of Landman reads, "Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast 'Boomtown' from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it's reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics."
Landman was created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace. The series stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, and Kayla Wallace.
Thornton plays Tommy Norris, the VP turned President of M-Tex Oil. In the second season, Tommy recruits his son, Cooper (Lofland), to become the new landman of the company. Cooper was later named as the project manager by Tommy, promoting him to run the WolfCamp drilling project. By the end of the season, Tommy was also fired as President of M-Tex Oil. By becoming the new person responsible for solving problems at the wells, Cooper has evolved from his earlier days in Season 1 as a rookie to being set up as Tommy's replacement.
Landman Has Been a Big Hit for Paramount+
The series first premiered in Nov. 2024, followed by the debut of Season 2 one year later in Nov. 2025. Paramount+ renewed Landman for its third season during Season 2, and new episodes are now in development. The show has been largely well received and even saw an increase in its critical reception for the second season. In particular, there has been a lot of praise for the cast's performances. This year, it won the award for Best Cast in a TV Series at the Satellite Awards.
Landman has been a success, but it has also not been without its controversy. Sheridan has since suggested that this was by design, as he claims he enjoys making the critics upset about certain storylines in the series. He recently said how he knew there would be backlash over Demi Moore's limited screen time in the first season, but that was only until her role was heavily expanded with Season 2.
Landman is streaming on Paramount+, and Season 2 will be released on Blu-ray on Sept. 22, 2026.
