KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville man is facing several charges after police found that a woman he was living with had been abused.
According to court records obtained by WVLT News, officers went to a home on Hickory View Circle on July 17 after receiving a call about a possible domestic dispute.
A man, identified as 37-year-old Christopher Neeley, let officers in the home, and records say they “observed a foul odor and animal feces covering the floor, along with urine and mouse feces.” Additionally there was “old food scattered around through the home as well as live rats and mice running around.”
Records say Neeley took officers to the back room of the home, where they met with a 75-year-old woman with a large red mark on her race from Neeley allegedly hitting her during an argument.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to court records, while Neeley was taken into custody and charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult, abuse of a vulnerable adult and domestic assault.
His first court appearance was for a bond hearing on Tuesday. His next court date will be Thursday.
