Clare Dunne's Amanda Kinsella is set to have her moment in the sun (or rather the dark corners of Dublin) once more, as it's been confirmed that Kin is returning to our TV screens.
S2 ended with some resolved storylines, setting the stage for a third season, and after three long years, we've finally been promised new episodes, which mark the 'darkest and most compelling chapter yet of the Kinsella story'.
EVOKE caught up with Clare at the 2026 IFTA Awards in February, who heaped praise on the fans of Kin for having a 'hunger' for the show to come back.
Clare, who looked phenomenal in a black Deborah Veal gúna and carried an August Night bag, told EVOKE: 'I have to say, I sort of feel a sense of homecoming and relief as well.
'All the fans and everyone involved, we just want it to really happen again, which just goes to show that TV isn't necessarily just like popcorn and you just keep consuming it, and it just keeps coming in fast.
'It's like, ok, people have waited three or four years for this, and they're willing to wait, and they do want to come back to it.
'To all the fans of Kin, thank you for the hunger. Hunger is the best sauce. I hope we satisfy the appetite.'
Elsewhere, Clare said that while she hasn't 'seen anything yet' in regards to a script, fans can expect a 'significant time jump' between the events of S2 and S3.
'I think for practical reasons it will have moved on a few years, only because my son [Mark McKenna] has grown up quite a bit. So we can't just keep him at 17 or 18 years old.'
'That's the only thing I know,' Clare admitted to EVOKE. 'I know certain seeds were sewn at the end of the last episode for Amanda, and I think they do come to fruition.'
The actress has had three years to think about where she envisions Amanda's storyline to take her, and she told us: 'I think she'll have become more settled into that maternal role of running things.
'I don't know now if things are running at a more international level or not. I hope that there are a few surprises for me as much as the audience, and I'm just excited to see where the 'oul relationships are... with the brothers!'
RTÉ has revealed Kin has been snapped up by Metropolitan Pictures and House of Juno, who will produce S3 – and fans won’t have to wait too long to see it on our screens, as it could arrive as early as next year.
One thing's for certain, and that's that Kin fans are sat waiting for an update on what all the key Kinsella family members have been getting up to over the past three years.
