John Harbaugh has finally broken his silence following Cam Skattebo’s awkward backflip attempt last week.
The 2026 season promises a fresh start for the New York Giants following some significant changes being made behind the scenes this offseason.
Brian Daboll has since been replaced by veteran Harbaugh following his own departure from the Baltimore Ravens.
There have also been some noticeable player acquisitions, with the likes of Isaiah Likely following Harbaugh from Baltimore.
The Giants will also have their hopes pinned on sophomore running back Skattebo, who will be returning to the field following his horrific ankle injury in week eight of the 2025 season.
After attempting to show off his recovery, Harbaugh has finally commented on Skattebo’s failed backflip at Fanatics Fest.

Skattebo has promised not to hurt himself ahead of the new NFL season as he addressed his backflip fail over the weekend.
Although it was expected the stunt would not go down well back at the Giants’ training facility, Harbaugh took a lighthearted approach to the incident.
“Dude, at least stick it, you know what I mean?” Harbaugh said on the BLEAV podcast.
“Land the thing if you’re gonna do it.”
It is certainly an upbeat outlook on the situation, but Harbaugh will surely be against the notion of Skattebo risking his fitness this close to the new season.
Whether Cam Skattebo will be ready for the 2026 NFL season
It must not be forgotten just how horrific Skattebo’s injury was back in late October against the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, it appears as if the second-year running back is going to be ready to suit up in the backfield alongside Jaxon Dart.
The Giants open up their 2026 season with a home game at MetLife Stadium against their NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
“Skatt’s going to be ready to go,” Harbaugh said.
“He’s been working super hard. He’s really been training like crazy, and his mind is on camp.”
During his opening five games as an NFL player, the 105th overall pick of the 2025 draft ran for 410 yards and five touchdowns.
A promising start for the 24-year-old, but he will now need to prove that he can remain fit and available throughout the season.
