The ‘Full House’ star revealed she’s ready to leave Hollywood after her two daughters, ages 18 and 15, finish school

Jodie Sweetin doesn’t plan on sticking around Los Angeles for much longer.
The Full House alum, 44, is opening up about her desire to leave the hustle and bustle of Hollywood nearly 40 years after she first debuted in her breakout role as Stephanie Tanner in the hit ABC sitcom.
In the July 15 episode of The Dory Jackson Interview, the 90s icon sat down with the journalist to discuss sobriety, her connection with costar John Stamos and being a mother to two girls: Zoie, 18, and Beatrix, 15.
“At some point my husband and I would like to, you know, move out of L.A.” she says of her and Mescal Wasilewski, whom she wed in July 2022. “That will obviously come once, you know, [the girls] are done with school and all that kind of stuff.”
Although the actress wants to live elsewhere full-time, Sweetin says she’d like to keep a property in L.A. for the kids. “I’d still want a place here so they can fight over, you know, who gets to stay in mom’s condo or something,” she says. “But you know, I think definitely it’ll shift and change when they’re older and of age.”
She adds: “I’m not one of those parents who’s been really afraid of their kids growing up. If anything, I have enjoyed watching who they have become because it’s been all them, you know? Like, I really tried to, you know, give them the guardrails to just figure out who it is that they are and want to be. So far, so good. You know, they both seem pretty happy!”
Elsewhere in the conversation, Sweetin revealed her eldest Zoie has decided what’s next for her after high school.
“She wants to do community college. She wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do. And she had the opportunity to play soccer somewhere at community college and get a scholarship,” Sweetin says. “So she was like, yeah, let me like save, you know, some student debt and all of that while I’m figuring out what I want to do… I’m so proud of her because this was absolutely, I think, the right next step for her.”

She adds: “She’s like putting the pieces together, you know, so she can’t put the dishes in the dishwasher, but she’s putting the pieces of her life together. So I’ll take the small wins where I can get them.”
