Jessie J and Chanan Safir Colman are no longer united.
Three years after the pair welcomed their son Sky Safir Cornish Colman, they announced they quietly made the decision to separate “some time ago.”
“It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co parenting environment for our son, and ourselves,” Jessie and Chanan wrote in a joint statement shared to Instagram July 20. “Unfortunately being in the public eye this is the easiest way to let people know the truth, before rumours circulate or a false narrative is written.”
The former couple—who had been dating for five years prior to their breakup—emphasized their commitment to moving forward together.
“We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Skys Mum and Dad,” they added. “So if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That’s exactly what we are doing.”

The accompanying photo showed Jessie and Chanan holding Sky on their shoulders while wearing jackets that read Mommy, Daddy and Sky. Backing the sweet photo was The Beatles’ song “Here Comes the Sun” with the location set to “Family Forever.”
Jessie and Chanan’s plan moving forward, as they put it, is “raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship.”
Though the “Price Tag” singer and basketball player didn’t share exactly when they split, Jessie publicly wished Chanan a happy Father’s Day back in June.
“The first and most recent picture I have of you being Skys Dad,” she wrote alongside a photo of Chanan holding their son in the hospital. “You are the most magical Dad to our boy.”
She then quoted their son, writing, “‘I love my daddy so so much.’”
And though Mother’s Day 2026 went by unrecognized on Chanan’s Instagram grid this year, his loving 2025 tribute to Jessie is still up.
“Watching you become a mother,” he wrote alongside a heart-eyed emoji. “Not just creating life, but nurturing, teaching, loving, and injecting our little human with so much personality, humor, and wisdom—has been the single most poetic thing I’ve ever witnessed in real life.”
He added, “Thank you for loving on our son the way you do and thank you for you.”
