Jessica Chastain completely transforms for her latest role in more ways than one. In the first preview for her new horror movie The Other Mommy, the actress debuted her darkest hair color in months, plus a set of blunt bangs.
The Blumhouse production sees Chastain portray Ursula, a wife and mother, as well as a supernatural entity that haunts her family’s home. To embody the creepy character, the Oscar winner’s strawberry blonde hair appeared to be multiple shades darker, akin to an auburn hue, while a fresh set of fringe grazes her brow bone.
Chastain is certainly no stranger to switching up her hair—she’s been blonde in multiple projects, including The Help, George & Tammy, and The Eyes of Tammy Faye, but she hasn’t gone this dark since last July, when photos from her Apple TV show The Savant first dropped. In that series, which is slated to premiere this month, she sports a brunette lob styled in a side part with millennial-style bangs.
More recently, Chastain went blonde again as she was photographed filming yet another series in May. The actress stepped out in New York City with a platinum bob on the set of Minivan.
Her sleek new ‘do went perfectly with her preppy ensemble, which consisted of a navy Burberry trench coat and black suede stiletto boots.
The actress stars opposite Ben Stiller in the Apple TV project, formerly titled The Off Weeks. Chastain is also executive producing the eight-episode drama, according to Deadline.
Stiller steps into the role of divorced writing professor Gus Adler, who begins to fall for a mysterious woman named Stella West (Chastain).
The Interstellar star also rocked blonde hair at the Met Gala back in 2023, where she channeled the late designer Karl Lagerfeld with bleached waist-length tresses.
