We can’t find anything official, but we’ve seen several social media posts suggesting that former Blue Devil Javin DeLaurier will return to Duke Basketball as a Player Development Assistant.
That’s pretty great. DeLaurier, who was captain for his last two seasons, was always an exemplary teammate. It’s exciting that he’s coming back.
Presumably, he’ll work a lot with the big men, but there’s no reason why he has to be limited. He’ll be helpful across the board.
Update – okay, here’s something official from the program.
The thing that impressed us most about DeLaurean as a player was that no one played harder. He always showed immense effort and heart on the court, and obviously, he led by example, which is part of what led to him becoming a captain. He’s going to be an influential guy behind the scenes, as he surely was as a player.
