On the Jacksonville Jaguars' YouTube page, the team shared a few-minute video documenting Travis Hunter's "Road to Recovery."
Hunter has spent the offseason rehabbing from a knee injury that he sustained around the halfway point of last season. He was not yet practicing during offseason programs.
But in the Jaguars' video, there is a clip of Hunter sprinting, in which he hits an impressive 22.6 mph.
"It was devastating," Hunter said of the injury. "I want to be on the field helping the guys. The offense was just starting to jell; I was just starting to catch my groove in the season. What I learned most about myself is how confident I am when I set my goals. I know I can go attack it, and just setting that stage, like I'm going to be ready when it's time for me to be back on that field and be ready for when it's time for me to get back in the building and do everything I need to do. That was the main thing I figured out about myself: when there is something that is set, and I need to go get it, I'm going to go get it."
Cameron Wolfe on the NFL Network recently reported that Hunter will be ready for training camp, but Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union added that fully cleared may not mean he's a full go. A ramp-up period may be required with him having missed so much time.
O'Halloran added that the goal is for Hunter to be ready for Week 1, not the first preseason game.
Hunter has bulked up this offseason, and Liam Coen recently discussed his approach to the offseason.
