Colgan High School graduate Brett Renfrow officially signed his contract Wednesday with the Minnesota Twins.
Renfrow reported Monday to the Twins' spring training facility in Fort Myers, Florida, which is where he signed his contract.
On July 11, Minnesota selected Renfrow with the 74th overall pick in the 2026 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. Renfrow was picked in the Competitive Balance Round B portion of the draft. That round takes place after the second round.
A right-hander, Renfrow was Virginia Tech's No. 1 starter for three straight seasons. A three-time all-ACC selection, he is the seventh highest pick among pitchers in the program's history.
Minnesota considers Renfrow its type of pitcher. The Twins tracked him during college and came away impressed with his physical tools and mental maturity.
"He really fits our mold of [a] college starter, really good strike-thrower, full mix of pitches that we think can enhance and optimize even more once we sign him. And really good makeup," Twins scouting director Sean Johnson told MLB.com.
