Westbound traffic between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday will be detoured to Franklin Road, the Idaho Transportation Department said.

A portion of Interstate 84 between Meridian and Nampa will be closed Tuesday night into Wednesday morning for construction work.

The Idaho Transportation Department will close I-84 westbound between Ten Mile Road (Exit 42) and Garrity Boulevard (Exit 38) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow crews to repave the road and perform maintenance tasks, according to a news release from ITD.

Traffic will be detoured to Franklin Road. A map of the detour is available here.

Drivers are asked to plan for extra time when traveling through the area at night. Motorists also can check 511.idaho.gov for the latest updates on restrictions and delays.

There will be additional nighttime lane restrictions on both eastbound and westbound I-84 throughout the summer as crews continue construction of State Highway 16 and the I-84 interchange. The new interchange is scheduled to open in 2027.
