How to get near unlimited Pal spheres in Palworld

There are a couple of different paths you can take when playing Palworld. You can prioritize the survival aspects, the base building components or the Pal collecting. Each one has vital importance and interconnects with one another, eventually coming together in a beautiful mash.

The latter, specifically Pal capturing, is the most addicting component to Palworld, being a Pokémon-esque system that allows you to not only make Pals your own but put the more inactive ones to work. On top of that, each Pal has their own passive skills that can come in handy in an immense number of situations. Some are more battle oriented, while others are base building, but there are others that help with the process of capturing Pals, and that’s exactly the situation here.

Getting Near Unlimited Pal Spheres

It should be said that this tip and trick isn’t exactly going to grant you unlimited Pal Spheres, but it certainly will feel like it. The whole idea is that you will have a supply of Spheres at your disposal. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a lot, but the more the merrier.

If you can gain access to the Sunreach Sky Islands early on, it will only benefit this more. Standard Pal Spheres will become incredibly standard, so there’s no real reason to worry about your supply early on, but once you dabble in Sol Spheres or Ancient Spheres, or even some of the earlier tools, this tip could help you a lot.

The whole idea isn’t to duplicate or easily grind materials to craft more of the Spheres. That’s something that can be done on the off time and almost automated later on. Instead, we’re looking at flipping a coin and whether a Sphere is used when it’s thrown.

Specifically, a Pal by the name of Katress, a cat that looks like a mage, has an incredibly useful Passive Skill called “Mystical Black Magic”. This skill will not only increase the drop rate of Neutral Pals, but more importantly, have a chance to prevent the consumption of a Pal Sphere upon throwing it.

At its base level, it will be 10%, which isn’t the most useful of traits, but the more you condense the Katresses, or find a shiny in the wild, the more valuable it becomes. At its max level of 4, it spikes the percentage that a Pal Sphere isn’t used to a coin flip: 50%.

As you can imagine, this is very useful for trying to farm specific Pals, or ones with lower rates.

Where to Find Katress

Unfortunately, Katress isn’t a Pal you can catch immediately. Its habitat is located on some of the stronger islands in the world. You will need to be at the very least around level 30, as the northernmost island of the Astral Mountains is the first place you’ll be able to find them.

It’s not in the mountains themselves, but the ancient civilization towers to the south. There will be tons of Katresses roaming around this area, making it prime for farming. After catching one, you should put it in your party and keep trying to catch as many as possible.

You will need a Pal Essence Condenser in your base, which is unlocked very early on at level 14. Once you have this, you can condense Katresses into a single one. One star requires 4 copies, two stars another 8, three stars 12 and finally, the four stars requires a staggering 24.

It will definitely take some time, but it will be worth it in the long run. Alternatively, you can use Dog Coins to purchase Starfruit from the merchant at destroyed churches. Starfruit allows you to bypass this entire system and upgrade a Pal from 1 to 4 with four items. This is ill-advised unless you have thousands of Dog Coins though, because usually these are reserved for Legendary or rare Pals, especially considering Katresses are very plentiful. Regardless, the option is there for anyone who doesn’t want to go through the grind.
