Harry Potter officially sets exciting new release this October

Harry Potter is coming back at the perfect time.

Arguably one of the biggest and most recognizable media franchises in the world is Harry Potter. It began as a fantasy novel series in 1997 and has since become a multibillion-dollar global franchise. The wizarding world has expanded with films, video games, theme parks, and stage productions, with fans around the world desperate for more from their favorite characters.

The Harry Potter collection is returning for its 25th anniversary, as fans can purchase a special eight-film Steelbook library case. The bundle will include all the original movies in individual 4K UHD Steelbooks with a certificate of authenticity, a reproduction of the Marauder's Map, a map of Diagon Alley, eight travel posters, and a sticker sheet. The collection will be available to purchase from October 5.

The Harry Potter film series took over the world and is certainly one of the most successful adaptations in history. Over two decades, the movies expanded from their original eight movies and also introduced the Fantastic Beasts prequel series. The main films grossed nearly $8 billion worldwide and catapulted its stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, into global stardom seemingly overnight.

Due to the overwhelming success, it's no surprise that Harry Potter will be returning to screens with a whole new adaptation. HBO is recreating the fantasy novels in a new live-action series, and with each season it will be focusing on one of the books to give a more faithful adaptation according to the cast and crew. Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been cast with new and relatively unknown names, but some notable names in the cast include Nick Frost, John Lithgow, Warwick Davis, and Katherine Parkinson.

The series will begin on December 25 and the first season of Harry Potter is named after the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Season 2 has already been greenlit way before the release of season 1 and is expected to begin production later this year. HBO has made its intentions clear to adapt all seven of the novels and has begun looking for actors for the roles of Ginny Weasley, Colin Creevey, and the infamous Tom Riddle.

Harry Potter's 25th-anniversary eight-film steelbook will be released on October 5, and fans can recapture the magic with HBO's series on December 25.
