Harlan Coben’s near-perfect thriller officially makes Netflix history

The Harlan Coben Formula That Turned Netflix Into a Thriller Machine
Harlan Coben’s Near-Perfect Thriller Officially Makes Netflix History

Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You has ruled Netflix for four consecutive weeks, extending the eight-part thriller’s impressive month-long run at No. 1.

Netflix has had a wildly successful year in 2026 after it came into the year riding high from the series finale of Stranger Things, which aired on New Year’s Day. The show went toe-to-toe with Harlan Coben’s first Netflix show of the year, Run Away, which quietly picked up over 50 million views during its time in the streaming spotlight. Netflix shifted back to the sci-fi genre for one of its biggest new releases of all time in War Machine, starring Reacher veteran Alan Ritchson. After the film cracked the all-time Netflix global top 10, the sequel is officially being fast-tracked to release, with the title being confirmed this week as War Machines. After dominating Netflix with Run Away, though, legendary crime author Harlan Coben is back with his latest hit, I Will Find You.

Coben recruited a pair of big-time stars in Sam Worthington and Britt Lower to lead I Will Find You, which has quietly become the biggest TV show of 2026. Netflix consistently puts out new content, which leads to most new shows being drowned out by newer arrivals, but I Will Find You continues to stand the test of time. After earning over 85 million views during its first four weeks on the platform, I Will Find You has now been #1 on Netflix for a full month now following its June 18 premiere, making history as one of the few shows to ever accomplish such a feat. Even other shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, which arrived after I Will Find You, have since dropped off streaming charts after only a few weeks in the top 10.

Is ‘I Will Find You’ Getting a Season 2?

Netflix has yet to announce if I Will Find You has been renewed for Season 2, but it’s unlikely that the show will continue beyond Season 1. This isn’t due to a lack of success, of course, but more due to the limited series nature of the show, meaning it was only ever designed to run for only one season. It’s impossible to rule out the show coming back for Season 2, be it with the same characters or new ones in an anthology-style series. Still, Coben has struck gold once again for Netflix, and he’s even returning to the platform soon for an adaptation of his best-selling book, Myron Bolitar.
