Watch a new scene from Super Troopers 3, where the Vermont state troopers encounter a sticky situation while using a bomb-disposal robot.

The worst state cops in Vermont are back this summer in Super Troopers 3. But before they hit the theater, Collider is proud to exclusively present a syrupy-sweet sneak peek to whet your appetite. The gang gets into some shenanigans with an expensive piece of police equipment in this new scene from the comedy sequel, which will make its big-screen debut on August 7. Collider's LA-based readers also have a chance to see the film early at our screening at AMC The Grove 14, followed by a Q&A with the troopers themselves; find out how you can win tickets here.

In our exclusive sneak peek, the gang is called out to a local truck stop to investigate a suspicious package a trucker found near his vehicle while procuring some...illicit services. And unfortunately, thanks to those illicit services, there's no on-site security to tell them anything about the suspicious cardboard box. Enter: the bomb-disposal robot. Carl Foster (Paul Soter) is the one controlling the fancy gizmo; unfortunately, he and girlfriend/colleague Ursula Hansen (Marisa Coughlan) are having some issues, and they're coming out in his work. Between her backseat robot-operating and his performance anxiety, things do not go smoothly, even after they discover the box's harmless contents. By the time the trucker remembers that it is his box, after all, it's far too late, and the whole troop ends up in a sticky situation.

What Is 'Super Troopers 3' About?

Wedding bells are ringing for Farva (Kevin Heffernan), the barracks' stupidest, angriest, and most incompetent trooper. Somehow, he's gotten engaged to the lovely Sarita Makundan (Hannah Simone), who just happens to be the sister of second-in-command Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar). As the two confront the reality of becoming brothers-in-law, there's an elaborate wedding in the works. Meanwhile, the rest of the team, including cantankerous Captain O'Hagen (Brian Cox), prank-loving Mac (Steve Lemme), and eager Rabbit (Eric Stolhanske), are focused on a new drug ring operating under their noses. It's going to take all the crime-solving skills they have (which are few and far between) to save the day and Farva's wedding.

The first Super Troopers, which centered around an oddball troop of Vermont state troopers who would rather goof off and pull pranks rather than do any police work, was released in 2001; a surprise box office hit, it became a cult classic via home media. A crowdfunded sequel, Super Troopers 2, achieved similar success in 2018. All three films in the franchise, including the upcoming threequel, were directed by Chandrasekhar and written by the Broken Lizard comedy troupe (Chandrasekhar, Soter, Heffernan, Lemme, and Stolhanske).

Super Troopers 3 will be released in theaters on August 7. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
