Game of Thrones: The Moonlit Stalker Officially Revealed in New Update

A new dragon joins the fray in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.

Amid the ongoing season of House of the Dragon, gamers have been diving further into Westeros with the official tie-in mobile game, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. The latest update has introduced a new dragon into the mix, this one much more stealthy than your typical Game of Thrones dragon.

The new update brings in Tairax, also known as the Moonlit Stalker. As each dragon in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire has their own unique stats, Tairax comes with unparalleled stealth and precision. She is a control-focused Epic Fire Hunter who specializes in shutting down enemy attacks through repeated Stagger, and can also take out enemies hindered by Control effects. By weakening enmy taiming through stat reduction, Tairax converts those openings into Fire Damage and Burn.

The Moonlit Stalker is especially useful for longer fights, as her late Fire scaling makes her more valuable in the second half of battle. Her weakness is that she's fragile, but she also has early-round Evade and defensive support with Resistance to counteract this issue. She is strongest when her Stagger shuts down dragons that rely on Attack Modifier Commands or repeated Basic Attacks. Utilizing control-heavy allies will also be very useful, as she gains extra value when enemies are already afflicted wiht Control effects.

"Her shimmering scales melt into the night sky, allowing her to move unseen, like a whisper gliding on a breeze," the devs state about Tairax. "One of her most fabled escapades was a game of hide-and-seek with the children of the Vale, orchestrated by her playful rider, Lady Lyra. This dragon hid in impossible places, and when she revealed herself at last, it was with a burst of fire that etched a wondrous sigil into the grass: a gift, not a threat. Her touch is subtle, her strike swift, a shadow that plays, then pounces."

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire Is Free on iOS and Android

From Warner Bros. Games, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire was launched globally in early June for iOS and Android devices. Players takeon the role of an original Valyrican descendant rather than taking on a character from the show, but there are appearances from House of the Dragon personalities. The goal for players is to hatch, raise, and command their own dragons. Available dragons include a mix of those seen in House of the Dragon along with original creations made specifically for the game.

The game emphasizes tile-based tactical warfare, along with base-building and resource management elements. There are also seasonal campaigns that offer branching storylines that can change depending upon the choices that the player makes. The story ties into the TV series, currently allowing players to get some more insight into the events of House of the Dragon Season 3.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is available now. It is a free-to-play game, though it offers optional in-app purchases.
