The Duxbury Free Library in Duxbury, Massachusetts, is inviting the community to dig into local agriculture with a free “Local Farmers Panel” next week, an event that pairs conversation with tasting. According to the Duxbury Free Library, three Duxbury-area farm businesses will speak about what they do, what it takes to run a farm, and how their work connects to the region, with free samples of their products available for attendees.
The program is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29th at 6:30 PM in the Merry Room at the library, as part of the library’s summer programming theme, “Plant a Seed, Read.” The library says panelists will include Island Creek Oysters, Fowl Play Farm, and Duxbury Creamery, offering a range of perspectives, from the water to the fields to small-batch dairy, while giving residents a chance to meet the people behind some of the area’s favorite local goods.
Registration is available online through http://duxburyfreelibrary.org/ or the library also noted that community members can sign up by calling 781-934-2721. With food, stories, and a behind-the-scenes look at farming life all in one evening, the Duxbury Free Library’s panel is shaping up to be a welcoming mid-summer stop for anyone curious about where local flavor begins.
