Friends surprise bride-to-be, who is blind, with wedding dress fitting of her dreams

Bride Stephanie Feeley found the perfect gown for her big day, which featured a lace bodice and sweetheart neckline, complete with a long veil

A bride-to-be, who is blind, had her dream wedding dress fitting — thanks to her close friends.

Melody Simmons and Brenda King surprised soon-to-be bride Stephanie Feeley by setting up a special appointment for a fitting at a David’s Bridal in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, according to local outlet WFMZ.

“There were a whole bunch of people [ready to help her find her dress] waiting for her when she got there,” Simmons told the outlet.

She said that she and King had convinced Feeley to go out on what she thought would be just a normal day of shopping, but instead turned out to be the wedding dress fitting of her dreams. 

They told WFMZ that the bride got emotional when she realized what happened. King recalled, “We told her, ‘We want you to know we’re here for you. We’re going to make happen what needs to happen, no matter what.’ “

Simmons and King, who met the bride at a non-profit that helps empower people with blindness called Sights for Hope, told the outlet that they began planning how to pull off the surprise as soon as they heard about Feeley’s engagement. 

“[Stephanie] said, ‘Melody, I got some good news! Dean proposed to me!’ I said, ‘Awesome! What did you say?’ She said, ‘I said yes of course!’ “ Simmons recalled the moment she heard about the engagement.

Thanks to the help of the David’s Bridal staff, Feeley was able to find the perfect dress. It featured a lace bodice with a sweetheart neckline which transformed into a silk a-line skirt. She also added a long veil to complete the look.

“I never imagined this day,” Feeley told WFMZ.

King told the outlet that it was important for the bride-to-be to have every moment of her wedding planning be filled with joy. 

It is one step of the process that Feeley will forever remember as she continues to plan for her wedding, which will be held in August 2027.
