The Princess of Wales is all about the power suits and tailored coat dresses these days. Her modern style oozes elegance with an endless collection of wide-brimmed sun hats and fascinators to go with her luxury frocks. While she's perfected the art of classic dressing in modern years, the royal has proved she's a fashion chameleon, once nailing the effortless and relaxed bohemian chic aesthetic for a summer day at the polo.
Princess Kate slipped into a heatwave-approved sage green mini dress to watch Prince William and Prince Harry play in the Chakravarty Cup polo match at the Beaufort Polo Club in Tetbury on 10 July, 2010. The dress was adorned with fringe on the top and belted at the waist for a cinched look.
With an oversized tan leather bag slung over her shoulder and a pair of comfy black raffia wedges to elevate her look, Kate could have easily fit in with the boho-inspired fashion that's become synonymous with festivals like Coachella. The royal wore her dark tresses out in natural waves and kept her accessories minimal for the sunny day out.
Kate's bohemian look book
The Princess of Wales has been perfecting the bohemian style for more than two decades. Back in 2005, the royal arrived for the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park in 2005 wearing a pair of knee-high boots with a single tassel on the side over a pair of belted skinny jeans.
Kate paired her festival worthy look with a form-fitting suede jacket to match her shoulder bag and a brown cowboy hat atop her head that had a braided rope detail and feathers on the side. She added a pop of colour to her off-duty ensemble with a long-sleeved blue top beneath her jacket, which perfectly matched her delicate gold chain necklace with a statement blue heart pendant.
The royal has also incorporated a bohemian style staple into her wardrobe. In 2016, Kate wore a pair of gorgeous cowboy boots during a trip to Canada.
She paired her Penelope Chilvers chocolate brown cowboy boots with khaki skinny jeans by highstreet brand Zara, a white blouse, and the 'Duchess' blazer by Canadian brand Smythe for her appearance on 30 September 2016 to open the new Haida Gwaii Hospital.
Princess Kate wore another bohemian dress of dreams in a video in September 2024 announcing she had completed her chemotherapy treatment. In the footage shot at the family's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, the royal frolicked around in a beautiful boho style midi dress by Veronica Beard, featuring a monochrome paisley print with a tiered skirt and defined waist detail.
