Florida State has landed another huge commitment. Four-star edge Meshi Dobson has committed to the Seminoles, announcing the news on social media.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder was in high demand with around 40 offers from schools like the Miami Hurricanes, Indiana Hoosiers, Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma Sooners, and Alabama Crimson Tide extending scholarships. So, this is a major win for FSU in recruiting.
That's not the only huge news. Dobson has decided to reclassify from the 2028 class to the 2027. This gives Florida State 17 commitments for the cycle. Dobson is the third edge along with four-star Anthony Cavallaro and three-star Jaxon Holly. He is also the third blue-chip recruit to commit to FSU this month, joining safety Ta'Shawn Poole and athlete Za'Kari Johnson.
Rivals industry rankings have Dobson listed as the nation's No. 325 overall recruit and the No. 36 edge. He's also ranked as the No. 46 prospect in the state of Florida.
The Seminoles got a prediction to land Dobson last weekend. It's clear that his Junior Day and Legacy Weekend visits in January and March put things heavily in their favor, and they didn't waste time closing.
Dobson was extremely productive in 2025. He produced 72 tackles, an amazing 31 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, one pass breakup, and one fumble recovery. He takes some snaps on offense at tight end.
Florida State has done a great job filling out its 2027 class, seeing as they won't take a big one. It'll be intriguing to see who else they're able to grab.
