The Indiana Fever set a team record for most points in a game after walloping the Connecticut Sun, 123-88, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Wednesday. The Fever notched their third straight win and improved to 17-10, maintaining their spot atop the Eastern Conference.
The starry trio of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston did most of the damage again. Clark had game-highs of 27 points and 11 assists, Mitchell tallied 23 points and four rebounds, and Boston added 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Clark, however, picked up her seventh technical foul of the season after jawing with Saniya Rivers in the third quarter. Another one would lead to an automatic suspension for the fiery guard. When asked if it is inevitable, the 24-year-old Clark gave a candid reply.

“I don’t know. I can’t predict the future. You gotta ask the magic 8 ball,” said the three-time All-Star in the video posted by The Athletic’s James Boyd.
She said Rivers talked smack to her, so she had to fire back.
“She said she was locking me up, so I said, ‘Scoreboard,’ and the ref didn’t like that,” shared the former Rookie of the Year.
Clark shot 8-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-9 from three-point territory. She, however, had a game-worst six turnovers.
Rivers, for her part, had 12 points and six assists in 27 minutes off the bench.
While Clark, who recently went after a referee, was not worried about a possible automatic suspension, she acknowledged that she has to find the right equilibrium when it comes to her feistiness.
“Just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me, me. But also I know my team needs me, and finding the balance to that (is important),” said Clark.
The Fever will return to action on Tuesday against the Seattle Storm.
