Feral cat begs kind woman to save her babies, and it's a match made in heaven

Stray cats have it rough out in the world, whether they have kittens or not. They never know where their next meal is coming from, where they're going to find a safe place to sleep, or who is safe to be around. It only gets harder when they have kittens to look after.

Recently, one feral cat decided she needed some help with her kittens. She wanted to make sure they were safe, and life on the streets wasn't cutting it. So, naturally, she made her way to a kind woman's house and begged her to take them in:

The Lost Animal Magnet has the most accurate username of all time. I love that Mama and her babies managed to get right up to her porch! Of course, the kind human couldn't help but agree, and in the video, she even says their family "grew by six" that day.

Since then, they've stayed on her property. They have lots of land and a bunch of different animals, and they allow them to explore the property. For a lot of cats, going from being fully outside to fully inside is a difficult transition.

The stray cat has officially made this home her own. They have the screened-in porch almost entirely to themselves! They even have a cute cat tree there, where all of the kittens like snuggling in together.

Mama wasn't in this video, but she was around. She's so lucky: others might have just taken the kittens in. The woman she chose, however, made sure there was room for them all!

How to Help Feral Kittens

While it's very common to see feral kittens, especially in the warmer months, most of them aren't going to walk right into your life as these kittens did with their mama. Even if they don't, though, you might still find some out and about!

If you find feral kittens somewhere, resist your first instinct to scoop them up and take them away... At least for a moment. You should:

• Assess them to see if any look injured.
• Look around for more.
• Look around for their mother.

Try not to take the kittens without their mother if it's at all possible. For one thing, they need her to eat, and for another, she's definitely not spayed. Getting her spayed, even if it's a TNVR situation, will help prevent more kittens. The Lost Animal Magnet can't take care of them all!
