Former Texas A&M running back Leveon Moss faces a serious arrest charge after his two-year-old son accidentally shot himself with a gun.
The ex-college football star was arrested for cruelty to juveniles and his infant son was taken to Our Lady of the Lake’s Children Hospital Monday night to treat the gunshot wound.

The shooting allegedly occurred in Baton Rouge at Moss’ apartment complex. Moss, 23, went undrafted during the 2026 NFL Draft, but signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins.
Baton Rouge Police Department’s affidavit states that the arrest occurred “due to Moss’ negligence, a child under the age of seventeen suffered unjustifiable pain.”

Police officials indicate that Moss alleges he fell asleep with his son before the accidental shooting occurred. That’s when his son took control of the gun and fired a single shot after finding it under Moss’ pillow.

The serious charged levied against Moss could certainly hurt his NFL aspirations. Meanwhile, his young son’s health is being monitored closely following the accident earlier this week.
Moss played all four college football season with the Texas A&M Aggies before attempting to enter the NFL. He previously committed to Alabama before changing to the fellow SEC program for the 2022 season.

The Louisiana native suffered several major injury setbacks during his collegiate playing days. That includes losing a portion of the 2024 season due to ACL and MCL injuries.

Moss’ most productive season with Texas A&M came in 2024 when he totaled over 900 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Dolphins have yet to release a statement on Moss’ situation and he currently still holds a place on the team’s website.
