Mitch Park YMCA in Edmond is temporarily closing both of its pools each day at 12 p.m. due to mechanical issues affecting the facility's air conditioning systems in the natatorium.
Both pools will close daily at noon through August 2 while YMCA crews work to repair the cooling system.
YMCA officials said all afternoon and evening pool classes, programs and activities have been temporarily canceled.
The announcement comes as local swimmers are in their final week of preparation for the 2026 Oklahoma Swimming Championships set for July 23-26 in Jenks.

The temporary schedule is intended to help ensure the safety and comfort of staff members and visitors as extreme heat continues to affect Oklahoma, officials said.
Repairs are underway at the Edmond location, and the facility said it expects significant improvements in the coming weeks.
Officials said they will reassess conditions on Monday, August 3, to determine whether or not normal pool operations can continue or if additional schedule adjustments are needed.
