First responders gathered to donate blood at Oklahoma City Police headquarters in partnership with Our Blood Institute for the ninth annual Boots and Badges Blood Drive.
Officials said the blood drive has helped save 8000 lives in the last eight years.
People can also donate blood on July 25 at the Paycom Center from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Successful donors will receive a commemorative Boots & Badges t-shirt, free food and one free entry to Magic Springs Theme and Water Park, Frontier City or Hurricane Harbor.
What to expect at the Boots and Badges Blood Drive:
- To donate, you must be at least 16 years old.
- A full visit takes about an hour, but donation lasts approximately 10 minutes.
- A quick health screening is required before donating blood.
- Snacks and beverages will be provided after donating.
Walk-ins are welcome, but Our Blood Institute encourages donors to book ahead by reserving a spot.
