Eddie returned to the doctor to check on his low testosterone levels, but the appointment revealed unexpected health concerns that have him making some major lifestyle changes.

Eddie Shares Major Health Update After Follow-Up Doctor Visit

Eddie's Follow-Up Doctor Visit Reveals Bigger Health Concerns Than Expected

Regular listeners to The Bobby Bones Show have been following Producer Eddie's quest to improve his testosterone levels, but during a recent doctor's appointment, he learned that low testosterone may not be his biggest health concern after all.

After sharing earlier this year that his testosterone levels came back lower than expected, Eddie headed back to the doctor hoping for a positive update. Instead, he got what he called a major "wake-up call."

Eddie Went In For One Thing, Left With Several Issues To Monitor

Eddie told Bobby he scheduled the appointment to discuss a few different health concerns, including a lingering sinus infection, a recent tick bite, and his testosterone levels.

The good news? Tests for Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses came back negative.

The less exciting news? His doctor wasn't ready to re-test his testosterone just yet.

According to Eddie, his doctor reviewed the results from his previous test and wanted to wait a full six months before making a determination about whether his levels are improving naturally. Since Eddie has chosen not to pursue testosterone replacement therapy right now, she wants more time to evaluate whether lifestyle changes are making a difference.

The Bigger Surprise: High Blood Pressure

While Eddie was focused on his testosterone numbers, his doctor uncovered another issue that immediately got his attention.

"I have high blood pressure," Eddie shared with the show.

The diagnosis wasn't completely out of nowhere. Eddie explained that high blood pressure runs in his family, and his doctor told him genetics can play a significant role. He also revealed that his brother recently suffered a stroke, which made the conversation feel even more serious.

To make matters worse, some of the headaches Eddie has been dealing with may actually be related to his blood pressure and not just his ongoing sinus problems.

Now he's been instructed to track his blood pressure daily using a home monitoring device and bring the results back to his doctor for review. Depending on those readings, medication could be in his future.

Eddie Also Learned He's Borderline Diabetic

As if the blood pressure news wasn't enough, Eddie shared another surprising result from the appointment.

"I'm borderline diabetic," he told the crew.

That means some of his favorite indulgences may need to take a back seat. Eddie joked that cutting back on sugar, ice cream, pizza, beer, and wine could become part of his new reality.

The conversation quickly shifted from testosterone levels to overall health, with Bobby pointing out that this may be the push Eddie needs to make bigger lifestyle changes.

A Wake-Up Call at 47

For years, Eddie says he's generally felt healthy and hasn't had major medical issues. That's why hearing several concerns come up during one appointment was difficult to process.

"I basically got old when I went to the doctor," Eddie joked.

But underneath the humor was a message that likely resonated with a lot of listeners: sometimes routine checkups reveal things you don't know are happening.

What's Next For Eddie?

For now, Eddie's plan is pretty simple:

  • Monitor his blood pressure every day
  • Continue working on healthier habits
  • Return to the doctor for follow-up testing
  • Revisit his testosterone levels later this year after giving lifestyle changes more time to work

While some folks might have been hoping for a dramatic testosterone comeback story, we all got something a little more important: a reminder that taking care of your health isn't just about one number on a lab report.

And if Eddie's experience encourages even one person to schedule that overdue doctor's appointment, he might end up helping a lot more people than he expected. We hope so!
