High pressure rebuilding over the western Atlantic is turning winds more easterly, allowing the Atlantic sea breeze to push inland early in the day. This will bring a chance for a few brief morning showers along the east coast metro, but overall conditions will remain mostly dry through the afternoon. Meanwhile, the Gulf sea breeze will stay pinned closer to the west coast, helping to focus scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across Southwest Florida later in the day.

Most thunderstorms that do develop inland or toward the west coast will remain below severe limits, but a stronger storm or two cannot be ruled out. If one develops, it could produce strong downburst wind gusts, frequent lightning and brief heavy rainfall. Along the east coast, limited moisture and subsidence from high pressure will keep storm chances lower, though a stray shower cannot be completely ruled out.

Heat will remain the primary weather concern for east coast communities. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the low to mid-90s, and when combined with humidity, it will feel between 100 and 105 degrees. Although widespread Heat Advisories are not expected, prolonged time outdoors can still lead to heat-related illness. Stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.
