The Philadelphia Eagles have had a busy offseason, trading AJ Brown to the New England Patriots in addition to a flurry of other moves to rework their roster. The Eagles also hired former Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator after firing Kevin Patullo from the role.
Recently, Dave Zangaro of NBC Philadelphia detailed how, shortly after he was hired, Mannion was in Green Bay and couldn’t get on a plane to Philadelphia due to a ground stop stemming from a snowstorm in the area. So, instead of waiting for the storm to clear, he hopped in his car and made the drive.
“This dude loves football and he loves to work,” Sirianni said, per Zangaro. “I mean I’ve really enjoyed being around him and just his desire. Sometimes we think ‘man he’s talented’ about everybody, ‘man he’s just got it.’ But it doesn’t happen without, whether it’s a player, whether it’s Sean, it doesn’t happen without just this obsession to get better.”

The Eagles’ offense was very shaky throughout the 2025 season, taking a major step back from the heights of the previous year, which they capped off with a Super Bowl win. Saquon Barkley looked like a shell of his MVP-candidate self from the prior season, and Jalen Hurts looked alarmingly mediocre throughout significant stretches of 2025.
While Mannion alone might not be able to fix all of those issues, Sirianni sure seems to have faith in his new OC moving forward.
“…Sean has this obsession to get better, this obsession with his craft, which is why he’s excelled in this profession. And I’m really looking forward to continuing to work with him.”
The Eagles will kick off their new season on September 13 vs the Washington Commanders.
