The days of Ultra Instinct being the most powerful and important transformation in Dragon Ball Super are officially coming to an end. With Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrolset to release once Dragon Ball Super: Beerus finishes remaking the DBS anime, the series' hierarchy of power is going to change forever. New forms are coming that'll push Ultra Instinct Goku out of his spot as the strongest Z-Fighter and mortal in the multiverse.
Goku's best Ultra Instinct storyline is still to come in Dragon Ball Super 2's Moro Saga, but after that, it's all downhill for the franchise's greatest martial artist. New, stronger personal transformations will debut between the Granolah the Survivor and Super Hero Sagas, gradually pushing Goku into a corner as Ultra Instinct gets surpassed. This doesn't mean Goku is weak – far from it – but Dragon Ball Super is setting a stage for a future where Ultra Instinct Goku is humbled by stronger characters.
Gohan Beast & Black Frieza Are Now the Most Powerful Personal Forms
The Dragon Ball Super manga has made it very clear that Ultra Instinct is no longer the strongest personal form in Dragon Ball. In the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Frieza trains for ten years inside a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, unlocks his Black Frieza form, and destroys Awakened Gas, True Ultra Instinct Goku, and Ultra Ego Vegeta effortlessly in a matter of pages. In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gohan unlocks his Beast form, which Chapter 103 of the manga confirms is indeed far stronger than Perfected Ultra Instinct.
In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Gohan Beast is not only faster than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku's instant reflexes, he's much more powerful, knocking Goku out of PUI with one strong blow. Goku has fallen far behind both of his greatest enemy in the world, and his own son. Now that Goku has perfected the form, Ultra Instinct has seemingly reached the peak of its power, which means both Gohan Beast and Black Frieza will remain stronger than UI Goku, unless he miraculously manages to mutate the transformation even further.
Ultra Ego & True Legendary Super Saiyan Have More Potential Than Ultra Instinct
Not only are Frieza and Gohan outpacing Goku, so are Broly and Vegeta. Following Dragon Ball Super: Broly's release, Saikyo Jump confirmed that Broly could have defeated Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta if he gained control of his Full Power Super Saiyan form, turning himself into a True Legendary Super Saiyan. Broly ends up unlocking TLSSJ while fighting Gohan Beast in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103. With so much room for his power to grow, Broly will quickly surpass Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, if he hasn't already.
Then there's Vegeta. Vegeta unlocked Ultra Ego while fighting Granolah in the manga, getting a Power Boost that rivaled Ultra Instinct Goku at the time. Unlike Ultra Instinct, which prioritizes defensive and evasive movements, techniques, and counters, Ultra Ego is all about raw power. The more damage Vegeta takes, the stronger he gets. The longer a battle goes on, his Power Level rises. Ultra Ego's only drawback is that Vegeta cannot accurately gauge how much stamina he has left, but Ultra Ego still has a lot of room to grow, unlike Ultra Instinct.
Goku Has Officially Unlocked a New Transformation
While non-canon to the manga, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 actually introduced a brand-new form for Goku: Ultra Supervillain Quelled, or Ultra Superhero as colloquially known by fans. Ultra Superhero is the result of Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku successfully resisting the corruption from Fu's Ultra Supervillain infection. Ultra Supervillain Quelled Goku gets all the power buffs from Fu's corruption, with none of the drawbacks whatsoever.
Ultra Supervillain Quelled Goku is stronger than Gohan Beast, which means he's far more powerful than Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku from the end of the Dragon Ball Super manga. It's not likely Goku will unlock Ultra Superhero in the Dragon Ball Super manga itself, but with how much stronger the rest of the Z-Fighters are getting, and Goku more or less reaching the end of his Ultra Instinct journey, a new form or evolution may be on the way in the Black Frieza Saga.
