Skiptown is expanding in Denver with plans for five new franchise locations, hiring 50-60 employees each, over the next several years.

A Charlotte-based pet hospitality brand that describes itself as providing a “pupcation” for its members' pets is expanding its Denver presence with plans to open five franchise locations in the city in the coming years. 

Skiptown, an off-leash dog day care and park with pet services like grooming and training, plans the Denver-area additions over the next several years. They'll join an existing company-owned venture at 3833 Steele St. in Denver’s Clayton neighborhood.

Now, a new franchisee — who CEO Mike Rotondo declined to identify by name but said is a Skiptown member — has agreed to open more locally, with an emphasis on southeast and southwest Denver. 

The first location is expected to open six to nine months from now. After that, Rotondo expects a new Skiptown to open annually in the city, he said. Each location will hire about 50 to 60 employees.
