Nobody has carved out as specific a niche in the music world as Dave Matthews, who shot onto the '90s music scene with his unique sound with Dave Matthews Band. The music of the group combines so many different sounds, styles, and perspectives of the musical world to create a body of work not quite like anything else. Possibly the best way to experience Dave Matthews is his live work, which is where you get to see a lot of his personality too.
These shows in the past have often featured Matthews sharing his politics. He's never shied away from making a statement on stage, using his platform to showcase his beliefs. Many fans are accustomed to this, while others haven't seen Matthews live and don't know to expect this.
This has caused a bit of division with fans online, who have split over a recent statement made by Matthews at one of his concerts directed at Donald Trump.
"I said it last night, but I'll say it again. Man, I'm so tired of this f****** president," Matthews said, to a huge applause from the crowd in attendance. This is on brand for Matthews, who has made his dislike of Trump very clear over the years.
The statement still divided fans, with some being upset at the singer's views as well as other who celebrated and empathized with the statement. Taking to the comments they reacted to what Matthews said.

Like many fans in the comments pointed out, this is who Matthews is. He has always been a very authentic musician who hasn't hid from being himself.
