Costco just dropped a sequel to its beloved lemon blueberry loaf & members are split

Costco Made A Spinoff Of Its Lemon Blueberry Loaf
Costco’s new Lemon Raspberry Loaf is already dividing shoppers, with some calling it amazing and others preferring the blueberry version.

Some are running, some are staying far away.

Costco’s bakery section has a new fruity dessert, and shoppers already have plenty to say about it.

The warehouse retailer’s new Lemon Raspberry Loaf was recently spotted by Costco fan account @costcohotfinds. The large rectangular loaf is topped with a crumbly streusel and powdered sugar at $8.99 per package.

The new bakery item follows Costco’s popular Lemon Blueberry Loaf, but swaps the blueberries for raspberries. That change has shoppers curious, especially anyone who already waits for Costco’s seasonal fruit-filled desserts to hit the bakery.

Some fans were ready to add it to their carts immediately.

“Oh I just KNOW this has to be amazing,” one person wrote.

“Ummmm we’re going to need to try this ASAP,” another added, while someone else kept it simple: “That looks SO good!!”

One shopper who had already tried it declared, “It’s AMAZING.” The account behind the original post also described the loaf as “so soft and sweet but tangy,” giving fans a better idea of what to expect.

Not everyone was convinced, though.

“It was mid. Not enough raspberries and not lemony,” one commenter wrote.

Another shopper compared it unfavorably to Costco’s blueberry version, writing, “This one didn’t taste good like the blueberry loaf!! My daughter and I didn’t like it.”

Others took issue with specific parts of the dessert. One person wanted Costco to “lose the lemon,” while another wished it came “without all the nonsense on top.” A separate commenter said there were too many seeds.

For now, the reaction seems split between shoppers racing to the bakery and loyal Lemon Blueberry Loaf fans who are not ready to crown its replacement. Either way, Costco has once again found a way to turn one of its giant desserts into a full-blown internet debate.
