Next time you’re planning your meals for the week, don’t overlook Walmart. The chain is known for its affordable prices, and it can be a great place to stock up on kitchen essentials. In fact, plenty of chefs buy both kitchen tools and ingredients there.
Lynne Just, chef and Consumer Test Kitchen Manager at Hamilton Beach, says she buys many of her pantry staples at Walmart, including pasta, sugar, flour, avocado oil, vinegars, along with basic spices she uses every day.
“Saving money on these basics allows me to splurge on more expensive items, like high-quality Angus steaks, which Walmart also happens to sell at a more competitive price than other grocery stores,” she shares.
Below, you’ll find the main items that Just, along with three other professional chefs, always shop for at Walmart.
