A Colorado arcade bar is working to build its largest venue to date.
The 1Up Arcade Bar shared photos of renovations on its new location in the Belmar Shopping District of Lakewood.
The new 1Up location will take over the space formerly occupied by a shuttered Lucky Strike bowling alley in Belmar.
Plans are underway to preserve the underground atmosphere of the 13,000-square-foot building and bring an expansive collection of arcade games to the space ahead of its opening this fall, according to a blog post on The 1Up's website.
"But this is the part nobody usually sees: the before everything turns into pinball machines, arcade cabinets, full bar, and late nights," 1Up posted on social media. "We’re going to be sharing the full build from here to opening day, so you can watch it transform in real time."
In addition to the Belmar location, The 1Up will also operate its locations in Greenwood Village, Westminster, and on Colfax Avenue in Denver.
Last month, the 1Up Arcade Bar’s original location on Blake Street in downtown Denver closed after 15 years.

"Ultimately, however, the combination of changing conditions in downtown Denver and the increasing financial pressures facing the hospitality industry made it clear that it was time for the next chapter.”
“The spirit of The 1up has always been bigger than any one location, and we are excited to continue that tradition while preparing for our next chapter in Lakewood," the blog post says.
