Rochester, N.Y. — Cheesy Eddie's is turning National Cheesecake Day into a three-day celebration as the local bakery marks its 50th anniversary.
More than 1,500 free slices of cheesecake will be given away each day from July 30 through Aug. 1, while supplies last. Slices are limited to one per person.
The giveaways will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Cheesy Eddie's Henrietta location on Jefferson Road, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its South Avenue location in Rochester.
Macarollin and Union Place Coffee will join Thursday's celebration, while Mortalis and Sammies N Sweets will be featured Friday. On Saturday, Mortalis will return and Hedonist will sell cheesecake ice cream.
The bakery will also offer giveaways and discounts on products and merchandise throughout the three-day event.
