After releasing singles dedicated to themes of music and fashion, Charli xcx checks off the final box to complete her Music, Fashion, Film rollout with the release of"Camera" on Tuesday (July 21).
Charli has teased the anticipated single throughout the album rollout, which included performing "Camera" at her underplay shows in NYC and London earlier in July. The song has now arrived with a black-and-white visual that finds the Brat singer living out her directorial dreams on set. The clip is helmed byThe Moment director Aidan Zamiri and stars actor Vincent Cassel.
In the video, Charli moves around the chaotic set, giving orders to the cast and crew to make sure they get the scene right, while Cassel takes a couple of shots to the chest, fake blood oozing from his mouth.
The British pop star vocalizes how she's done going through the motions of a monotonous life. "I don't feel embarrassed even if I suck/ I'm always craving an experience that feels dangerous," she sings about living life on the edge and trying new things. "And maybe this is it, maybe it's what I need."
"Camera" serves as the fourth single from Music, Fashion Film, following "Wink Wink," "SS26" and lead single "Rock Music." The rest of the 11-track LP will arrive on Friday (July 24), featuring an appearance from director David Cronenberg.
Charli xcx's foray into the movie world continues with her starring in I Want Your Sex, which hits theaters on July 31. The singer will also be hitting the road in support of her Brat follow-up for a North American arena tour, which is slated to kick off in Philadelphia on Sept. 11.
The 33-year-old is riding high, coming off the success of her blockbuster Brat in June 2024, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, her highest charting album in the U.S. to date. The set also won the Grammy for best dance/electronic album in 2025.
