Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has released a new rap single just days before the start of training camp.
The track, titled "Turn Back," debuted on July 17 across major streaming platforms. It marks Sanders' second official release following his 2024 single, "Perfect Timing."
The song opens with a piano melody before shifting into a melodic flow. Its lyrics focus on criticism, confidence, and personal growth.
"Too many people want to see me fail," Sanders says early in the track, and later adds, "It ain't gonna happen."
The song closes with a spoken message that reflects his mindset entering the new season.
"This perspective is going to make me one of the greatest. I'm always going to be legendary. I know that, I believe that," Sanders says.
Sanders announced the release alongside his brother, Shilo Sanders, in a YouTube vlog. The pair celebrated over dinner while also teasing a companion short film.
The timing has drawn attention because Browns rookies report to training camp this week. Sanders is expected to compete with Deshaun Watson for the starting quarterback job.
Music has become part of Sanders' routine, but he insists it never distracts from football.
"It's easy," Sanders said when asked how he balances both careers, in the short interview with Shilo. "The same time that dudes go and play PlayStation, I go and make music."
Sanders started seven games during his rookie season after injuries reshaped Cleveland's depth chart. He threw for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions as the Browns finished 5-12.
The franchise responded by hiring Todd Monken as head coach and rebuilding its offensive line through several key additions, like Tytus Howard.
Training camp now becomes Sanders' biggest stage. His music release may grab headlines, but his performance against Watson will shape Cleveland's quarterback plans. If Sanders shows progress after a full offseason, the conversation could shift from his latest single to his future as the Browns' starter.
