Brexton Busch, the son of late NASCAR star Kyle Busch, was involved in a wreck during this Tuesday's Cook Out Summer Shootout.

Last week, Busch made the motorsports community proud by winning a dirt race at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma. It marked his first win since his father's death. After returning to victory lane, he posted a heartfelt message on social media.

"My first win since my dad passed. I don’t like to talk about it much, but the last two months have been really tough," Brexton wrote. "I’m missing my crew chief, my driver coach, my dad, the guy who I looked up to more anyone. I know he would be proud the way I ran the top (much better than him lol) to win my first Micro A-Main at Port City. We love and miss you so much dad."

Unfortunately, Brexton's positive momentum didn't carry over to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday night. He was involved in a nasty collision with only 15 laps to go in the Cook Out Summer Shootout.

Busch's mother, Samantha, revealed that he's using this Wednesday as a rest day. However, he's not thrilled about taking a break from the track.

"Brex ended up wrecking out after a hard hit last night but thankfully he’s all good today," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "He will be back on dirt tonight. Tried to tell him to take the day off and rest to which I got an eye roll."

Samantha Busch has been right in Brexton's corner.

Before Kyle Busch passed away on May 21 due to pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, his wife promised him that she'd do everything possible to help their children achieve their dreams.

With that being said, Samantha has done her part to help Brexton progress as a driver.

“I promised him that I would do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what. For Brexton, that dream is racing. It wasn’t a dream Kyle chose for him. It was something they shared. They spent countless hours talking about race cars, working together, dreaming together, and building a bond around something they both genuinely loved. Racing is what lights Brexton up and as long as it’s the dream in his heart, I’ll be right there beside him, cheering him on every step of the way,” she wrote on Instagram. “And if one day his dreams take him somewhere else, that’s okay too. And if Lennix wants to get behind the wheel (we just bought her a kart for her 4th bday) it won’t be the same as having Kyle by her side but we will do our absolute best. The racetrack has been home for our family for nearly 20 years. It’s where some of our greatest memories were made, where our kids grew up, and where so much of our life together happened. Right now when so much of our world feels unfamiliar it’s also one of the few places that still feels like home. Every time we get to the track, we’re reminded that a piece of our team is missing. The person who should be standing beside us isn’t there. That part is heartbreaking. But it’s also where we feel closest to him, surrounded by the memories, the people, and the dreams he helped build. So we race on.”

If Brexton eventually takes his talents to NASCAR, there'll be countless fans in his corner cheering him on.
