Boeing Company BA is on a contract-winning spree on Tuesday as it grabbed deals from major airlines across the globe.

This follows a contracts from Philippine Airlines and Riyadh Air on Monday.

• Boeing stock is trading in a tight range. What’s the outlook for BA shares?

Contract Wins

  • The company, along with Luxair, the flag carrier of Luxembourg, disclosed that the airline has expanded its 737 MAX fleet commitment by converting two previously held options into firm orders for Boeing 737-10 jets. The agreement also includes options for an additional two 737-10 aircraft, supporting Luxair’s future fleet growth plans.
  • Boeing, along with Uganda Airlines, disclosed that the East African carrier has placed its first-ever Boeing aircraft order, comprising four 737-8 jets and four 787-9 Dreamliners. The fleet expansion will help Uganda Airlines modernize its operations and support rising demand across its regional and international routes.
  • The company, along with MSC Air Cargo, disclosed an order for five 777-8 Freighters, marking the carrier’s first purchase of the next-generation cargo aircraft. The 777-8 Freighter combines 777X technology with proven 777 Freighter capabilities and is designed to be the industry’s most capable twin-engine freighter.

Boeing Stock: Key Levels To Watch

Boeing is trading below all four major simple moving averages, which keeps the intermediate trend under pressure: it’s 4.2% below the 20-day SMA, 5.2% below the 50-day SMA, 4.2% below the 100-day SMA, and 3.9% below the 200-day SMA. That "below the stack" posture often turns rebounds into sell-the-rip attempts until price can reclaim at least the 20-day/50-day area.

Momentum also leans cautious: MACD is below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to upside pressure cooling versus the prior upswing. In plain English, when MACD sits under its signal line, rallies tend to struggle unless buyers can rebuild momentum and flip that relationship back.

The crossover picture is mixed, which helps explain the choppy longer-term tape: the 20-day SMA is below the 50-day SMA (bearish), but the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA after the golden cross in June. Traders will also remember the prior regime shifts — such as the Death Cross in April and the swing low in June — as reference points for where trend followers may re-engage.

  • Key Resistance: $232 — Round-number area where rebounds can stall, especially with multiple moving averages sitting overhead.
  • Key Support: $208 — Nearby pivot zone close to current price where buyers may try to defend the tape.

How Boeing Is Performing Against Industrials

Boeing is underperforming its sector on Tuesday, down 0.45% while Industrials (XLI) is up 0.47%, a gap of 0.92 percentage points. That’s notable because Industrials is the No. 2 sector out of 11 today, so Boeing is lagging within a group that’s otherwise catching bids.

Zooming out, Industrials is down 1.51% over the past 30 days but up 4.68% over the past 90 days, suggesting the sector’s trend has improved even if the last month has been choppy. If the sector stays near the top of the leaderboard, Boeing will likely need to close that relative-strength gap to attract incremental buyers.

Boeing Earnings Preview: What Analysts Expect

The countdown is on: Boeing is set to report earnings on July 28 (confirmed).

  • EPS Estimate: Loss of 27 cents (Up from $-1.24 year-over-year)
  • Revenue Estimate: $23.90 billion (Up from $22.75 billion YoY)
  • Valuation: P/E of 82.8x (Indicates premium valuation relative to peers)

Analyst Consensus & Recent Actions: The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $274.44. Recent analyst moves include:

  • Citigroup: Buy (Raises target to $260 on May 18)

Boeing’s Benzinga Edge Scorecard Breakdown

Below is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Boeing, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

  • Momentum: Weak (Score: 16.22) — The stock’s recent trend is lagging, which lines up with the price sitting below key moving averages.
  • Value: Weak (Score: 27.76) — The valuation profile screens as expensive versus peers, leaving less room for error if execution or guidance disappoints.

The Verdict: Boeing’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a weak setup across momentum and value, pointing to a stock that’s both technically pressured and priced at a premium. For longer-term bulls, the cleaner entry often comes after momentum improves (reclaiming key moving averages) or after earnings reduces uncertainty around the forward path.

Boeing’s Weight in Key Aerospace ETFs

  • Corgi Aerospace & Commercial Aviation ETF AV: 4.42% Weight
  • iShares US Aerospace & Defense ETF ITA: 9.33% Weight
  • Invesco Aerospace & Defense ETF PPA: 8.93% Weight

Significance: Because Boeing carries such a heavy weight in these funds, any significant inflows or outflows for these ETFs will likely force automatic buying or selling of the stock.
