I'm officially down one pet because my daughter recently moved out with her Pomeranian. Every now and then I catch myself thinking, Maybe one more wouldn't hurt. Then I look over at Meatball, Elvis and Tarkus and remember I already have three cats who somehow manage to take up the space, shed and appetite of about twelve. I absolutely do not need another kitten.
Unfortunately, nobody bothered telling my brain that before I saw this impossibly fluffy blue tortoiseshell Maine Coon kitten. She looks like someone scooped up a tiny puff of smoke, sprinkled on a little magic and gave it ears. I've seen a lot of gorgeous kittens, but this little girl has one of the prettiest coats I've ever laid eyes on.
This precious girl was shared by the TikTok account for @Majesticmainemajesy and as she rolls around, her fluffy coat catches the light in the prettiest way. Depending on the angle, she looks like she's made of shadows, mist or little storm clouds. It's easy to see why Maine Coons have such a devoted following. They're already breathtaking as adults, but as kittens they're somehow even more magical.

Honestly, there wasn't much else to say.
Some kittens are adorable.
Others are so beautiful they almost seem fictional.
This little blue tortie definitely falls into the second category.
Do Maine Coon Kittens Eat a Lot?
The short answer?
Usually, yes.
Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic cat breeds, so growing kittens need plenty of high quality nutrition to support healthy bones, muscles and development. Your veterinarian can help determine how much food is appropriate based on your kitten's age, weight and activity level.
Speaking from personal experience, though, Meatball would happily eat breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, dessert and a little midnight charcuterie board if I let him.
He acts like he's never been fed a day in his life.
Fortunately for him, Maine Coons do grow slowly compared to many other breeds, often taking three to five years to reach their full size. That means they spend a long time transforming from impossibly tiny fluffballs into the gentle giants everyone falls in love with.
Watching this little smoky kitten, I can already picture the gorgeous adult she's going to become.
Although...
I'd also be perfectly happy if she stayed the size of a tiny puff of smoke forever.
