Draymond Green may have taken a break from trying to recruit LeBron James to the Golden State Warriors, but someone else did the pitching for him.
Green has been aggressive in enticing James to join the Warriors, including hanging out with him in Puerto Rico and showering him with praise on his podcast. Still, James has remained undecided regarding his free agency.
Well, The Ringer’s Bill Simmons took over from Green during his appearance on “Game Over,” the podcast of James’ agent, Rich Paul, and Max Kellerman. Simmons tried to convince Paul to tell his 41-year-old client to pick the Warriors.

“Why wouldn’t LeBron go to Golden State? Honestly, that’s what everyone wants. Literally, if you did a poll, 97% (would agree),” said Simmons.
Kellerman agreed with Simmons, but Paul was steadfast in his stance, which he has reiterated over the past few days.
“In the event that was to take place, the only thing missing is Michael Jackson’s glove in terms of how big of a rockstar. It’s not my choice. I don’t have a choice. I don’t have a choice in this. Let the man have his choice,” replied Paul.
He, however, acknowledged that a duo of James and Stephen Curry would be amazing for the NBA.
“When you talk about growing the game globally, in the event something like that takes place where you get two mega-superstars on one team, that team has to go to any country that you’re trying to grow awareness of the game,” added Paul, who has handled James since 2012.
Simmons noted that if James signs with the Warriors, they would instantly be up there with the most iconic teams in league history, along with Golden State during its dynastic run, the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s, and the Los Angeles Lakers with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.
James stated that he will take his time in making a decision.
He is also being linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
