More than 15 million grill brushes and thousands of grills have been recalled this year, prompting federal safety officials to urge consumers to check their backyard barbecue equipment before their next cookout.
Since February, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced four major recalls involving grilling products. Three involve metal wire grill brushes that can shed bristles into food, creating an ingestion hazard that can lead to serious internal injuries. The latest recall affects a popular Cuisinart gas grill with a pizza oven whose tempered glass window can shatter during use.
The Cuisinart grill recall comes just one week after the company recalled 1.7 million grill brushes, and follows similar grill brush recalls involving Weber and Nexgrill earlier this year.
Here's a look at the recalls and what consumers should do if they own one of the affected products.
Cuisinart Propel+ gas grill
Conair is recalling about 12,660 Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grills with pizza ovens (Recall No. 26-605) after reports that the tempered glass window on the pizza oven can shatter during use.
According to the CPSC, the company has received 37 reports of shattered glass during use and one report of a fire. No injuries have been reported.
The recall includes model CGG-6331. The model number and serial number can be found on a label located on the inside of the grill's right-hand metal door. The grills were sold at Lowe's, Walmart and online at Cuisinart.com between December 2024 and May 2026 for between $500 and $750.
Consumers should stop using the grill immediately and visit Conair's recall website to determine whether their grill is included in the recall. If affected, consumers should follow the instructions to safely remove the tempered glass window. Eligible customers can receive a $500 refund by check or reimbursement for the original purchase price with proof of purchase.

Cuisinart grill brushes
Earlier this month, Conair also recalled about 1.7 million Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes (Recall No. 26-601).
Federal safety officials say small metal wire bristles can detach during use, stick to grill grates or food and be swallowed, potentially causing serious internal injuries that may require surgery.
The company has received at least 54 reports and reviews of detached bristles, including three cases in which consumers swallowed the metal pieces and sought medical treatment to have them removed from their digestive tract or throat.
The recalled brushes were sold nationwide at Burlington, TJ Maxx and Ross stores and online through Amazon.com and Cuisinart.com from June 2009 through March 2026 for between $8 and $20.
The recall also includes some Cuisinart grill tool sets that contained the recalled brushes. Affected sets include the Premium Grill 10-Piece Set (CGS-2010), 13-Piece Wooden Handle Grill Tool Set (CGS-W13), 14-Piece Deluxe Stainless Steel Grill Set (CGS-5014) and 20-Piece Deluxe Grill Set (CGS-5020). Consumers who purchased one of those sets should check whether it contains one of the recalled brushes.
Consumers should stop using the brushes immediately and contact Conair for a refund or store credit.

Nexgrill grill brushes
In March, Nexgrill recalled about 10.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes sold at Home Depot stores and online (Recall No. 26-313).
The CPSC says at least 68 reports of detached bristles have been received, including five incidents in which consumers swallowed the metal pieces and required medical treatment to remove them from the throat or digestive tract.
The recalled brushes were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide and online from 2015 through 2026. The affected products include six models with black plastic or wood handles measuring between 18 and 21 inches long.
Consumers should stop using the brushes immediately and contact Nexgrill for a full refund in the form of a gift card.

Weber grill brushes
The year's first major grill-related recall came in February, when Weber recalled about 3.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes (Recall No. 26-282).
According to the CPSC, the company received at least 38 reports and reviews of detached bristles, including four reports of consumers who swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove the bristles from their digestive tract or throat.
The recalled brushes were sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware and Target stores, as well as online through Amazon and Weber.com, from 2011 through 2026 for between $10 and $17.
Consumers should stop using the recalled brushes immediately and contact Weber for a free replacement nylon grill brush.

Why are wire grill brushes being recalled?
The three grill brush recalls all involve the same hazard.
According to the CPSC, metal wire bristles can loosen during cleaning, remain on the grill grate and later become stuck to cooked food. If swallowed, the bristles can lodge in the throat or digestive tract and may require emergency medical treatment or surgery to remove.
