Bear spotted hanging out with dog in Colorado backyard

DENVER (KDVR) – Residents in an Colorado neighborhood say a frequent visitor to the area seems to be getting more comfortable after the animal was spotted hanging out, just feet away from a neighbor’s dog.

Lucas Eads from Arvada told NewsNation affiliate KDVR that on Monday evening he spotted a large bear lying on the neighbor’s backyard patio while the neighbor’s dog, Sully, barked at the animal.

Eads said the interaction ended with the bear calmly walking away down the sidewalk.

A photo even captured the moment.

The Arvada resident said the bear has been spotted around the neighborhood over the last few years.

Eads said Sully is doing well and was just trying to defend his turf.
