The Arizona Cardinals drafted Carson Beck 65th overall in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. After spending his first five seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs, Beck transferred to the Miami Hurricanes in 2025. He put together a strong campaign with the Hurricanes, helping lead the team to a National Championship appearance and setting career highs in passing touchdowns. He completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, finishing with a 13-3 record.
In his rookie season, Carson Beck is expected to compete for the backup quarterback job against Gardner Minshew and a spot on the game-day roster. Depending on how things pan out with Jacoby Brissett, Beck could start a few games in 2026, especially if the Cardinals continue to lose.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals have signedCarson Beck to a rookie contract ahead of training camp. The deal is for four years and is worth $7.4 million with a $1.846 million signing bonus. The main holdup in Beck signing the deal is that agents are trying to secure guaranteed base salaries for third-round picks. However, teams have remained steadfast that the only guaranteed money they receive is the signing bonus.

“Three-year starter who has weathered his share of ups and downs. Beck has NFL-caliber size and a lot of experience playing in high-leverage games. He recovered from 2024 UCL surgery on his throwing elbow, but he appeared to lose some drive velocity on deep balls and move throws. He works through progressions at a good pace and can throw with anticipation, but he loses track of safeties, throwing into hazardous spots.
“Beck’s decision-making showed more maturity in his final college season, but pressure can pull him back into old habits. He spins a catchable ball with a compact release, but spotty accuracy leads to pass breakups and a lower conversion rate on tight-window throws. Beck projects as a good backup with the potential to earn a starting job down the road, but he must continue developing game-managing instincts.”
