Arielle Prepetit dishes filming Naomi's secret reveal on Beyond the Gates

The news that Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit) is actually BRCA-positive has rocked the Duprees on Beyond the Gates. After all, the legal eagle initially informed her family that she was negative for the genetic mutation. Now, however, the truth is out, and Naomi is considering undergoing a preventative double mastectomy.

Needless to say, some of Naomi's loved ones have had different reactions. But Prepetit was excited to film the scenes where the facts came out; she explained one character's reaction while discussing shooting those important moments.

Prepetit told SoapSteph's Daytime Dish newsletter:

I could literally feel the stress in my chest when I was doing the scenes. The first person Naomi told was Dani, so I got to do those scenes with Karla [Mosley] and there’s just something about acting with Karla — she can just make me cry. I just get so vulnerable and cry with Karla. I don’t know what it is as a person or her as Dani, it just came out and it felt so good to feel that with her. So, I was really glad that that was the first person that Naomi told, and then to tell Jacob [Jibre Hordges], there was just so much that she had to explain, and for him to be as understanding as he was, was really sweet to me. For him to stand by her side even though he has his own thoughts and opinions, I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s the kind of support you need in a marriage. They’re gonna be fine.’ That's how I felt when I read the scene. I was like ‘They’re gonna be fine because he is supporting her choice.’ Because it is ultimately her choice.
